Applied Statistics

Objective:  TLWBAT calculate the mean , median , and range of the data set.

This activity was a follow up to the puzzle cube project and we had to find the medium, mode, mean, and range of the sizes of each cube. We used a dial-caliper to measure the height of the hardwood cube.

Puzzle Cube

Objective: The objective for this project is to brainstorm and sketch possible solutions to an existing design problem. Select and Approach that meats or satisfies constraints in the design brief. Create somple extended solid computer aided design.

For this project we had to create a puzzle cube that consists of 27 hardwood cubes and had to contain 5 puzzle pieces. The puzzle pieces had to have at least 3 hardwood cubes and more than 6. They had to be permanently attached.

Engineers Notebook

1 & 2) Identify the Problem & Constraints- We were given a list of constraints and we had to follow that criteria.

3) Brainstorming- We had to think of combinations to make our puzzle pieces to make our puzzle cube.We drew them on isometric paper.

Generating Ideas

4) Generate Ideas- I had to gather all of my combinations and make it into one Puzzle Cube. However creating a puzzle cube out of combination of puzzle pieces was hard to do because of our constraints.

Consider Packaging

5&6) Explore possibilities and select an approach- After I saw the combination that fit my criteria and was suitable for the client.

7) Build a Model or Prototype- After choosing the right specs. for my cube I came up with a Brand and logo for my Cube-------- The Go Cube. We handled packaging and the design of the packaging.
